TIER REIT Announces Topping Out of Two BriarLake Plaza in Houston

Class A office building in one of Houston’s top business districts nears completion

HOUSTON – TIER REIT, a leading commercial real estate investment trust, announces the topping out of Two BriarLake Plaza, a 12-story, 332,000 square foot office tower currently under construction in the heart of Houston’s Westchase District. Two Briarlake Plaza began construction on the tower in late 2012 is on track to be completed by April 2014.

Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., will provide Project Leasing services, and Behringer Harvard Property Management will provide on-site property management services. Samsung Engineering America has preleased 50 percent of Two BriarLake Plaza for its North American headquarters.

“With its distinctive architecture, amenities and prime location, Two BriarLake Plaza will be a landmark Class A+ building in the Westchase/Energy Corridor office market,” said John Pruitt, Cassidy Turley Executive Managing Director, who, along with Senior Vice President Jessica Ochoa, handles leasing services for the building.

Two BriarLake Plaza will offer a bistro style café, a fitness center equipped with showers and locker rooms, and a first class conference center that can accommodate up to 150 people. Once the office tower is completed, One and Two BriarLake Plaza will encompass 830,000 square feet of office space.

“The addition of Two BriarLake Plaza will add a variety of high-quality amenities to the BriarLake Plaza buildings, which will help better serve today’s growing tenant demands,” said Greg Brooke, Senior Vice President of Asset Management at TIER REIT. 

The design and construction team for Two BriarLake Plaza includes general contractor Harvey Builders; Kirksey Architecture; structural engineer Haynes Whaley Associates Inc.; mechanical, electrical and plumbing firm Wylie Consulting Engineers; and civil engineer Brown & Gay Engineers Inc.


Two BriarLake Plaza is located at 2050 West Sam Houston Parkway and Briar Forest Drive.
