Seagate Properties Signs 120,338 SF Lease with BioMarin Pharmaceuticals at Prestigious San Rafael Corporate Center

BioMarin Expanding North Bay Presence

San Rafael, CA - Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., announced today that brokers Trevor Buck, Senior Vice President/Partner and Steve Leonard, Senior Vice President/Partner of the firm have represented landlord Seagate Properties in its successful lease of 120,338 square feet of Class A office space with new tenant BioMarin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. at the prestigious San Rafael Corporate Center (SRCC).

Novato-based BioMarin penned a long-term lease for an entire 83,315-square-foot three-story building located at 770 Lindaro Street plus another 37,023 square feet on the second and fourth floors at the adjacent four-story building at 790 Lindaro Street within the center. Built in 2009—eight years after the San Rafael Corporate Center’s first phase was completed— these two LEED Gold certified buildings represent the most recent additions to the project. Currently headquartered in over 300,000 square feet of office/lab space in the neighboring city of Novato, BioMarin will be expanding its North Bay presence just southbound into San Rafael with an occupancy date scheduled for spring. BioMarin was represented by Mark Maguire, Phil Arnautou and Luke Wilson of Colliers International in the transaction.

Mr. Buck stated, “Among the largest transactions here in Marin County over the past few years, this is a significant long-term deal and will help to considerably tighten the office market here in the North Bay region.”

Built in phases in 2001 (phase I) and then 2009 (phase II), the San Rafael Corporate Center is comprised of four premium Class A office buildings. The project was touted as Marin County’s First LEED GOLD certified new construction. SRCC is located just one block off Highway 101, across from the San Rafael Transit Center, and two miles north of the Larkspur ferry terminal, making access ideal for auto and mass-transit commuters. The project is just a short walk to Fourth Street and San Rafael’s thriving revitalized Main Street offering tenants an abundant mix of retail, international cuisine and entertainment amenities within walking distance.
