New York, NY – Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., announced today that it has hired Noble Carpenter and Bart Steinfeld to lead its capital markets expansion into key markets across the country.
Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Steinfeld join Cassidy Turley from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in New York City and have an average of 25 years of experience in capital markets transactions in New York and across the country. Proven capital markets leaders, in the last 5 years, they have sold or financed in excess of $10 billion of commercial real estate transactions. The two will work closely with Cassidy Turley’s William Collins, Executive Managing Director of Capital Markets, and Peter Hennessy, President of the New York Tri-State Region, to develop a fully integrated national capital markets platform. They will provide investors and users with the full spectrum of capital markets services, including investment sales, debt placement, structured finance, recapitalizations, joint venture equity, development financing and note sales. Both will operate from the firm’s New York City office.

Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Steinfeld most recently served as International Directors for JLL, where they were senior members of the firm’s Real Estate Investment Banking Group, focusing on note sales, debt restructuring and workouts. Over the last two years, they had primary transaction responsibility and oversight for strategic advisory assignments totaling over $6 billion of distressed assets, performing and non-performing note sales of nearly $4 billion and various financings in excess of $1 billion. Significant assignments have included the asset management of a $1.25 billion portfolio of whole loans, b-notes and mezzanine loans for State Street Corporation; the sale of performing and non-performing loans for such clients as Eurohypo, HSH Nordbank, Morgan Stanley and TIAA-CREF; and the sale of small balance loans from various CMBS servicers and commercial banks though an auction platform with their joint venture partner REDC.
An employee of JLL for 23 years, Mr. Carpenter has extensive investment sales and cross border transaction experience. Most recently, Mr. Carpenter headed JLL’s Note Sale practice. He received his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and his BA from Colby College. He serves on the Advisory Board for the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate and served as Vice-Chairman for the Global Exchange Council of the Urban Land Institute.
While at JLL, Mr. Steinfeld led the firm’s Asset Resolution Services practice. Before assuming that role, he created and led the company’s U.S. Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Steinfeld was Co-founder and Principal of Apogee Associates, LLC, a boutique real estate investment banking and capital markets advisory firm, and held senior positions at various investment banks, including Credit Suisse. Mr. Steinfeld holds a JD from Yale Law School and a BA from Yale University.
