Minneapolis – April 28, 2010 – Cassidy Turley, one of the largest commercial real estate services providers in the U.S., today announced that Mark F. Sims has achieved the SIOR industrial designation awarded by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors®.  SIOR is a Washington, DC-based international professional organization of 3,000 commercial real estate professionals, 2,600 of whom have earned the coveted SIOR designation.
To achieve the SIOR designation, Mark Sims, SIOR completed more than five years of creditable experience in the highly specialized field of industrial real estate; meet stringent education requirements; and demonstrated to SIOR professional ability, competency, ethical conduct, and personal integrity.

Sims joined Cassidy Turley in September of 2008 and has specialized in industrial sales and leasing in the Minneapolis-St. Paul commercial real estate market since 1989. Over the course of his career, Sims has completed transactions totaling more than 20 million square feet for major owners and users. Some of the many clients he serves include: Ryan Companies, AMB Institutional Realty Advisors, Duke Realty Corporation, RREEF, Walgreens, Anheuser-Busch, and Scherer Brothers.

Sims focuses on new business development, Landlord and Tenant Representation, and Investment and Owner/Occupier Sales in the North and West submarkets. He has been a presenter and moderator numerous times for the NAIOP Forecast as well as the CCIM Forecast events and is a Real Estate Forum Power Broker. He is a member of the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors, is the President and a Board Member of the Organization of Commercial Realtors.

Individuals who hold the SIOR designation are top producers in the commercial real estate field and are represented in more than 590 cities in 25 countries around the world. SIOR enforces a strict code of ethics and required designees to complete its ethics course within their first three years of membership.

Extrapolated data shows that SIOR designees, as a group, closed more than 3.3 billion square feet of space in 83,500 transactions (buying, selling, or leasing) for a total dollar volume consideration of more than $122.7 billion dollars in 2007.
