CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., today announced that 28-year industry veteran Steven H. Gassaway will join the firm as Regional Managing Principal of the Carolinas, effective June 1. Mr. Gassaway joins Cassidy Turley from CB Richard Ellis where he managed the Charlotte region of 250 employees including Brokerage, Capital Markets, Corporate Outsourcing and Property Management.
In his new capacity, Mr. Gassaway will be responsible for directing the growth, management and operations of the firm’s Charlotte and Raleigh offices. Rob Cochran, who has served as the Managing Principal of Cassidy Turley’s Charlotte office for the past 13 years, will focus his efforts on leading the firm’s Capital Markets Group in the Carolinas. David Finger will continue as the Managing Principal of the Raleigh office.
“Steve’s experience and reputation, in our industry and the region, is exactly what Cassidy Turley needs for continued growth in the Carolinas,” said Rob Cochran, Senior Managing Director and Capital Markets Leader in the Carolinas. “His track record in building full-service commercial real estate operations and teams will be invaluable to us.”
“We welcome Steve’s leadership as we build the Cassidy Turley brand across the Carolinas,” said David Finger, Managing Principal of the Raleigh office. “With Steve joining us, our Raleigh and Charlotte professionals will have access to one of the best leaders in the industry, which will enhance our ability to deliver superior client service.”
Mr. Gassaway began his commercial real estate career with CB Richard Ellis’ Baltimore office in 1983. Since relocating to Charlotte in 1995, he has led the Charlotte office of two national commercial real estate firms, Trammell Crow Company and CB Richard Ellis. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration from Lehigh University.
“Under Steve’s leadership, we will strengthen and expand our service offerings to better serve our clients,” said Cassidy Turley President Joe Stettinius. “The Carolinas is one of the fastest growing regions in the country, making it a significant area for our expansion strategy. As Charlotte continues to attract financial institutions and energy-related companies and Raleigh high technology and medical corporations, Cassidy Turley is poised for the growth opportunities in this region.”
Mr. Gassaway is a licensed real estate broker in North and South Carolina. In 2010, he served as President of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors. He is currently an active office member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and a member of the board of directors for the Charlotte Regional Partnership.
