ATLANTA – As part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement, the Atlanta office of Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., has selected the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children as its community outreach partner. The Atlanta office, led by its Community Outreach Team, is in the process of developing a 12-month program to assist the organization in its mission to serve the needs of homeless women and children.
“Our associates in the Atlanta office already volunteer their time and services to more than 50 community organizations. In addition to these individual efforts, Cassidy Turley has decided to select one organization as the focus of the Atlanta corporate office’s volunteer efforts in the community,” said Clark Gore, Regional Managing Principal in Cassidy Turley’s Atlanta office. “With its clear mission to support women and children by breaking the cycle of homelessness, the Atlanta Day Shelter is a great choice for our first official community outreach partner.”
The Atlanta Day Shelter delivers a critical needs program that supplies women and children clothing, meals, essential medicine, as well as access to childcare, telephones and computers, public transportation and other services. In addition, the organization offers job readiness programs, storytime for children, educational stipends, medical care, computer training, early education programs, and mental health counseling.
“We’re thrilled that Cassidy Turley has chosen our organization as its community outreach partner,” said Ginny Nickles, Executive Director of the Atlanta Day Shelter. “With the dedicated commitment of Cassidy Turley’s employees, we’re excited about the prospects of enhancing the programs and services we provide women and children.”
Holly Hughes, Senior Managing Director and Principal of the Property and Facilities Management group in Cassidy Turley’s Atlanta office, led the Community Outreach Team’s selection process, which included a survey of employees in the Atlanta office to gauge which causes are most important to them.
“Our employees are passionate about causes that serve children,” said Hughes, who recently was inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women Achievers for her career achievements and her long-standing dedication to organizations including the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Centers, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. “This partnership will be an excellent opportunity for Cassidy Turley to combine the energy and resources of our employees to assist this organization in its important mission.”
In 2012, the Atlanta Day Shelter:
