SAN DIEGO – Cassidy Turley San Diego, the region’s market leader in commercial real estate services, today announced that the company was recognized as the leading fundraising team for City of Hope’s San Diego Walk for Hope after raising nearly $5,000 for the organization.
The local Walk for Hope, which supports women’s cancers, took place on Saturday, May 19, 2012. More than 40 Cassidy Turley professionals, family members and friends participated in the walk and fundraised for the event through raffles and personal donations.
“Cassidy Turley’s drive in fundraising for this event was extraordinary,” said Ellie Levine, assistant director of development for City of Hope’s San Diego regional office. “The company’s motivation and constant energy was second to none and brought the San Diego event to a whole new level. The team’s extensive fundraising effort has heightened our ability to reach our vision of becoming the leading cancer center in Southern California.” City of Hope is a leading research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. Designated as a comprehensive cancer center, the highest honor bestowed by the National Cancer Institute, and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, City of Hope's research and treatment protocols advance care throughout the nation. City of Hope is located in Duarte, California, just northeast of Los Angeles, and is ranked as one of "America's Best Hospitals" in cancer by U.S. News & World Report. Founded in 1913, City of Hope is a pioneer in the fields of bone marrow transplantation and genetics.
“City of Hope is very close to our hearts. Several of our company’s professionals have been personally touched or effected by the organization as they have had friends and family members with severe illnesses that were supported by City of Hope’s institutions,” said Kim Hardtke, vice president of human resources at Cassidy Turley San Diego and head of the company’s Outreach Committee.
“We were excited and proud to be recognized as the leading fundraiser for the City of Hope’s local Walk for Hope,” said Dan Broderick, president and CEO at Cassidy Turley San Diego. “City of Hope is an exceptional organization and we are proud to support their amazing research efforts, hospital and patient care, and educational programs. Supporting an organization like City of Hope exemplifies our company mantra of ‘Client. Community. Culture.’ We know we are only as strong as the community we serve and we appreciate how important it is to take care of those in our community who are affected by these life-threatening illnesses.”
The City of Hope fundraiser and walk are part of a continued effort by Cassidy Turley’s Outreach Committee to utilize the company’s professionals’ combined strengths and resources to serve the San Diego community through commitment, dedication and awareness.
