NEW JERSEY - Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., today announced that commercial real estate industry veteran Charles Fern has joined the firm as Executive Vice President. In this role, he will be responsible for working with institutional and corporate clients and will be based out of the Somerset, N.J. office.
Previously a Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle, Fern has more than 25 years of experience specializing in the industrial sector, with extensive work on both the investor and user sides of the business. In total, Fern has leased or sold more than $2 billion worth of industrial space and facilities.

Some of Fern’s more notable transactions are the leasing of 1.5-million square feet to Barnes & Noble in Monroe, the sale of a 945,075-square-foot site to Electrolux in Edison, the leasing of 390,000 square feet to John Wiley & Sons Publishing in Edison on behalf of Heller Construction, and the sale of a 500,000-square-foot FedEx facility to AMB Property Corporation in Elizabeth.
Outside of the New Jersey marketplace, Fern was responsible for the sale of 750,000 square feet for KTR Capital in Pompano, Calif., and the sale of 1.25 million square feet for Ashley Furniture in Leesville, Pa.
Fern has won multiple awards throughout his career such as being included in Real Estate New Jersey’s “40 under 40” and earning CoStar’s coveted Power Broker Award for the past seven (7) years. He has been included on the top industrial real estate team by CoStar for the past four years and earned the Broker of the Year award from Prologis in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009. Additionally, Fern was named Broker of the Year from Heller Construction. In 2004, he was voted #3 on the Top 50 brokers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the NJPA Real Estate Journal and he and his team also won “Industrial Deal of the Year” in the same periodical.
